ABOUT THIS SITE
Well,I'd probably heard of Orlando before (in a Trembling Blue Stars review,I think), but the first time I really took any notice was when I met a fellow Divine Comedy fan on their mailing list.A letter arrived that said "..I play guitar and write songs for my band Orlando...our debut single, 'Just For A Second',is out on Blanco Y Negro on August 12th..." And the rest,as they say,is perfect sparkling history...so,some e-mail and letters,two singles (both "Single Of The Week" in the MM),breathtaking live shows,some eyeliner,one TV appearance and truckloads of music press later,here we are and here it is...the first Orlando devoted site to exist (and get listed on The Wonderwall, too!)...And I never cease to be amazed by the band or their fans...I've met some truly amazing people just through a shared love of a true pop group...oh hell,let's be Simon Price-esque: THE true pop group...truth and beauty...Orlando,thank you...for making me see that pure pop is better than indie-snob tendencies...for offering solace...for making us believe.What more could you ask?
